Day 12: Scavenger Hunt Items

Killing two birds with one stone so to speak.  I got behind on my watercolor days so decided to use the scavenger hunt items I had sketched.  Sketched in graphite and painted in watercolor with a little pen.  10 items for the current Scavenger Hunt.   Watercolor paper 5.5 x 8.5 inches.  #‎WorldWatercolorMonth‬

 Day 11: My little toy poodle Jo. She passed away a couple years ago. I still miss her. I got her when someone abandoned her at a veterinary shop and only had her for 2 years. She was such a joy.

Day 9 - Graycie. ‪#‎WorldWatercolorMonth‬. Photo by Andy Mathis. Graycie came to him a "broken" girl and with his patience, love, and care, she is becoming a much better dog. 

 I started this last night and had a little trouble getting it finished. Several people know that I have shingles in my right eye which causes me to have 20/100 eyesight in that eye. I have been fighting it since mid December. Unlike other shingles, this one doesn't usually itch or hurt. Today it felt like there was something in my eye and I have been rubbing it a lot and it has been weeping. Hopefully it will get back to my normal soon

Day 8 Just finished. This is Bruno. Another great photo from Andy Mathis and used with permission. I have done several portraits of Bruno as he has grown. I just love his face. Watercolor and a little ink on watercolor paper. About 5x7 inches.

I am finding I miss my colored pencils.  I usually put the first layer of color down with watercolor, then use a combination of colored pencils and watercolor pencils to fine tune and get my details.  I might go back in once in awhile with some more watercolor and/or use water with the watercolor colored pencils.  It's like I have an itch when I reach a certain point and have to fight the urge to grab colored pencils.

My Girl Friday

Day 5 of the  ‪#‎WorldWatercolorMonth - My dog Friday when she was a puppy. She passed on Dec 31, 2010. Very sweet, hyperactive girl. She ended up being red but you can't tell from her puppy pictures. She was my one special one out of all the pets we had.
