I am doing all portraits (at least that is the plan at the moment). I am doing crops of the heads or faces. I like "up close and personal" crops. I don't crop first, I start with one thing like the eyes, then work out till I run out of room. Easier than trying to fit a certain piece in such a small area. These are all graphite with colored pencil and are ATC size (2.5 x 3.5).

These are great, Jeanne, I particularly love the way you have achieved Degas. Lovely series.
This is a neat idea, to paint your rendition of the masters. Have you learned anything about their styles and how they differ, and what made them 'masters'? I don't know much about art history.

These are just super! I like how you start with the eyes and stop when you run out of room. Sounds like a good plan. I was just looking at Anita Davies blog and she sent off her book for the Sketchbook Project. I'll have to get over to Brooklyn some day and check them out. There are quite a few people I know who have done them.
