Penny, Giraffe, and Somewhere on Google Street Map View
Here are a few 4 x 6 inch paintings I have done this week. The dog is my Yellow Lab Penny. She is 6 years old and I have had her since she was 9 months old. She's my separation anxiety dog. Quite a handful but such a love.
The giraffe is a figurine I probably purchased at Goodwill. And the little cottage was from a photo capture on Google street view.
All are done in watercolor and pen and ink on watercolor paper.

Graphite Trade
On the Drawspace Forum we decided to have a graphite/pen & ink trade this month. No theme except the medium. Here are my cards. They will be going out on Monday or Tuesday depending whether the mail runs on Monday.
I gave them a choice if they wanted me to do a drawing of their pet as I love doing animals. The dog on the right is Floos' pet and the cat underneath is Tea's. Those were the only two who opted for a pet of theirs.
The bird is the scrub jay that befriended me for a couple of months and followed me around talking like I was his mother. He finally got a girlfriend and came back a couple more times and then no more. I called him "Ain't" because that's what he sounded like when he talked to me. The cat in the pot is a school friend of mine's cat and was taken thru her patio door. The other things are from my Goodwill Store treasures.

Scavenger Hunt #256
A new list has been posted for the Scavenger hunt. I have my still life setup with 18 of the 26 items. Now ready to do the sketch. My friend Tberry said these would get on her last nerve but to me they are fun and challenging. Choosing the items to fit the list, getting them arranged in just the right positions to look good and balanced, doing the sketch which is probably the most difficult part, and then the painting.

The Virtual Paintout - Elba, Italy
I haven't been participating in the Paintout for quite awhile. So this month I decided to have a go at it. I found a few prospects but decided on this one. You can see the original that I used on Google Street Map View here.
This is about 8 x 10 inches with watercolor, colored pencil, and pen & ink.

Groundhog Day
Today would have been my husband's 62nd birthday. Today and most of the last few days have been very pensive for me. I have thought of things from the past. One more date (the date he passed away) to get thru and I will feel better that they are all past and then I can breathe.
I did my yearly self-portrait. This one I did for the latest Scavenger Hunt. Last year I did a half of my face to represent that half of me was missing with the death of my husband. This year my face is whole again. I'm not great but moving into the future and a new normal.
