Wetcanvas WDE April 25 - Partice Has a Little Lamb

I participated in the Wetcanvas Weekend Drawing Event for April 25, 2014.  Each week a host posts16 photos from which we can choose.  We are supposed to choose one and post whatever we have finished after a 2 hour period.

I picked the sheep.  There were 3 sheep in the photo but I decided to concentrate on the central one.  I liked the way the sheep was looking right at the camera like she was waiting for the photo op to end.

I am still working on the Designer Scrapbooking papers.  I chose this one so that the white would show a little and also it has circles which I hoped would add to the fleece look on the wool.  It probably took me an hour and a half to do and I used colored pencils, graphite, and pens including a white Signo uniball.  The paper is the size it came from the pad which was a 6x6 inch pad.

Lion

I did another painting by putting the paint down, then sketched the lion, then added some wc pencil and water.  Then some white charcoal.  It's in the homemade, cover-less sketchbook I made with Arches paper.  The reference is by dominika from the Wetcanvas RIL.  Around 7.5 x 9.5 inches.

Scavenger Hunt #301 WIP

I did the graphite sketch, then put some color down first with watercolor paint.  I added some watercolor pencils and regular colored pencils, then went back in with watercolor, colored pencils (both regular and watercolor ones) until I had the result that I wanted.  It's about 11x14 inches in a Strathmore watercolor pad of paper.  I'm out of practice and this didn't turn out just the way I wanted.  But good practice.

Scavenger Hunt #256

A new list has been posted for the Scavenger hunt. I have my still life setup with 18 of the 26 items. Now ready to do the sketch. My friend Tberry said these would get on her last nerve but to me they are fun and challenging. Choosing the items to fit the list, getting them arranged in just the right positions to look good and balanced, doing the sketch which is probably the most difficult part, and then the painting.

I'm On A Roll

I finished two more ATCs today. I didn't have much to do to them as I started them and had the ink on. Just had to add the color. On watercolor paper. Watercolor, watercolor pencil, and pen & ink.

The cow is from my own reference. Another ceramic cow from my cow collection.(Which got so huge, I had to downsize it.) The bird is a Female Mountain Bluebird from a reference by Dave Slaughter on Wetcanvas. Thank you Dave.

The project list was sent out today so the 6 I have finished should be able to go in the mail on Tues (Monday is a holiday...President's Day)

Elliott

This is Elliott. His photo was one that was provided by Valri for the Wetcanvas WDE this week. I believe that he has passed. This was done in watercolor with some micron pen. ATC size.

I have been playing around with pen and ink plus watercolor. I want to be able to use a medium that goes a little faster than cps. I still love doing cp but sometimes I just want to do something quickly. I have been known to put cps over watercolor. I like combining the two. But this time I wanted to try watercolor with pen.

I have done two others in the same way. One of my hand and one of my lab Penny asleep on my bed. These are also ATC size and will go to participants in my new Wetcanvas project.
