Here is an ATC I did from one of my photos. Not perfect by any means but I like the view of up close and personal. I used a mechanical pencil and a shading stump. I worked on it a little more this morning...a little more shading. But didn't feel like scanning again. I want to do more drawing, not scanning.

Jeanne, very nice sketch. I agree on the scanning, it always take longer to fix the photos to post than to do the drawings. Arghhh. Nice work on the cactus.

Thanks Jo. Wasn't quite as tedious as I thought but I did do the "whiskers" pretty fast and didn't do much to them.
Jeanne, I followed you from Jeanette's blog - glad I did, the photos from your nursery are beautiful, the shapes and colours are begging to be drawn/painted.
And your sketch here is great, I really love the 'whiskers'!

Great cactus sketch. I like the spiny thorns. Nice job on them. It was fun to see some of the photos you took. You will have material for 100s of sketches.
