Shell 3
I decided to try again with the shell. After I posted the last 2 pictures, I could see that I needed to adjust the spirals.

You've also shifted the values so they aren't so even all the way round - and that's giving a much better sense of form.
Such a good object to choose - apparently easy but not at all - really makes you look to get it right.
