Mister T

Here is my version of Tripod for the virtual drawing date. I liked it in graphite but it was so soft that it didn't scan very good. So I went to work putting the graphite in darker and adding colored pencil.

My scanner doesn't do a good job when there is a combination of graphite and color. It makes the graphite look brown which in turn looks dirty. I used the picture program to lighten the color a little which helped the graphite.

Tripod (or Mr. T which I call him) is one of my favorite cats. I love hearing about his escapades at Jeanette's blog Illustrated Life. You can take a look at her blog from the link at the left. I can't wait to see the versions from all the others in the drawing date. Rose Welty has hers up and said we ended up with 10 participants. Here are the participants: Jeanette, Rose, Jeanne, Stacy, Belinda, Jennifer, Gayle, Teresa, Katherine and Paulette. Please stop by each blog and see what each artist has done. Rose has posted Teresa's as Teresa doesn't have a blog.

Now I am ready for the next one.

Hi Jeanne, thank you, it was fun to do.
If you want to post the links you can just copy and paste from my post. Or for future reference, say you want to reference my post, you copy the address,up in the tool bar then go back to your post, (that you are writing) highlight the name or word that you want to make clickable, then click on the little world with the chainlink on it(the editing stuff just above where you are writing) and paste the address in to the box that comes up.
You can get the flash gadget by going to Yahoo pipes and making one or you can use the one I made, I give instructions here,

Marcia is a wonderful artist. You can go to any of the artists blogs on the pipe by scrolling over top of the picture, then clicking on the title.

Jeanne, I love the color. And I like that you included the mug too. I really wanted to get that in there, as I felt that it really added to the composition, but I just couldn't get it to work and decided to cut my losses. Really nicely done, it sure is fun isn't it?

Hi Jeanne! I really like your drawing of Tripod. You were brave to include the fox drawing and mug. And I like how you used the same color for the mug and Tripod's markings. Tripod looks so soft, you made me want to reach out and pet him.

Jeanne - well done for trying him in colour! I know what you mean about that scanning problem - I get it too. There must be a solution but I'm not quite sure what it is. It's one the reasons I switched to using pen and ink and coloured pencil
