Van Gogh

My latest version of a Master's painting was a Van Gogh. It is Scheveningen Woman Sewing. The original is in muted colors. I decided to do mine in graphite. I was somewhat fascinated by the shape of the lady's face and head covering. The head covering looks like a dogs head to me. Don't ask me why. It's just what I see. I don't know if in the original there was thread in the lady's needle or not, but I think I should have put some there. ATC size.

Another one has arrived in England. It is Harvesters at Pont-Aven by Emile Bernard. I liked the simplicity of the original and the vibrant colors. Mine was done in colored pencil and pen and ink.

I love your Emile Bernard version and the vibrant warm colours. The Van Gogh sketch is full of simplicity and strength. So sorry your health has been playing you up of late. Hope you get rid of that cough soon.

Jeanne - I'm enjoying your Masters paintings. I love Van Gogh and you did a great job changing it to graphite. Wonderful colors in the second one. Good job!

These are both wonderful. Your Masters art pieces are an inspiration -- you've inspired me to do a Mary Cassat piece for my Mother's day card this year. Thanks!
